Preparation

  • Brown your butter in a saucepan over medium/low heat until golden brown and nutty.
  • Pour the browned butter into a heatproof bowl and let it cool slightly.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Mix the cooled butter with brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.

Combining Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in caramel bits, chopped chocolate, and crumbled bacon.

Baking

  • Scoop the dough into 2-tablespoon-sized balls on prepared baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze cookie dough balls on a baking sheet before transferring to a freezer bag for later baking.
